Ah but they said Seaford would have rain and thunder Sunday night. No we did not! And they said today would be dry. No it was not! (I know..rain in Seaford. Imagine!)

Don't think I will bank on the forecasters to help us win the Ashes. Anyway we wil scuttle out those Aussies for under 200 in each innings and have time to win even if it does rain.

Come on England. you can do it

id be happy for the weather to be bad in the next 5 days

Sorry, but I don't want the weather to intervene in any way what so ever. Yes, the weather was on their side in the 3rd test when in actual fact we should have won.

They are world Champions and I want us to go out there on Thursday and take the game to them. I want us to win on merit not so they can turn around and say if it wasn't for the weather , etc.

If it was a draw through weather then it'll look like on paper that we wasn't the superior side. I want us to rub their noises in it, come away with a convincing win. I have faith and am totally convinced we'll show them that we're a force to be reckoned with for the foreseeable future and that the aches will be staying in it's rightful place for many years to come.

Come on England. Let's show em!!

I am slightly nervous due to the fact that the ECB have already announced they have booked Trafalgar Square for the celebrations should England clinch it.

Call me old fashioned, but the words "counting" and "chickens" spring to mind.

No doubt, England have dominated the series and if there was any justice would have won it already. But I'd just have preferred for the ECB to have kept that little bit of news quiet, at least until England are 500 runs ahead with one day to play and several Australians back in the pavilion.

What more motivation could the Australians need than to rain spectacularly on that particular parade?

I can already imagine every ex-pat Aussie in Earls Court climbing Nelson's Column and taking the piss big style, come next week.

All the same: BRING IT ON!

Totally agree, what did that dopey prêt of a chairman say from that scummy team from south London before the season started? and look what happened when they played Luton. Hope we don’t end up with egg on our faces.

We can only lose it now. just got to stay focused.:)

I think the Aussies bar Lee and Warne have had their spirit broken by our boys.

We should win it.

So your happy to turn up on the last day for what? It'll be a pointless exercise considering we'd have won the ashes. Wont be much a party atmosphere as it would of been if the weather hadn't intervened.

To watch England lift the Ashes and stuff it up the arrogant Aussies would be worth it WHATEVER the situation weather intertuptions or not. I have a spare ticket and could probably get some serious money for it but I've given it to my mate who loves his cricket , we'll be wearing our Albion tops if we get there!!

Nah, Australia have been outplayed but no way has their spirit been broken, they have narrowed big first innings lead by England in each of the past few tests. Underestimate the fighting spirit of an Aussie at your peril, they always tend to raise their game 10 per cent beyond their natural ability in whatever sport, they are the best sporting competitors on earth.

This test is a one-off final and England will have to play out of their skins to win it.

Even if the weather severely disrupts the final test, we have outplayed the aussies in 3 of the four so far, so they would hardly be able to moan about the weather. We're 2-1 up on merit.

McGrath will be fit, we'll pick Collingwood to replace Jones, and although we'll lose a strike bowler, Collingwood can bat, bowl and is an excellent fielder - so we should still be confident.

Not only should you never write off an aussie, but they finished the last test with the momentum. Yeah we won it but was anyone sitting comfortably in our countdown to win? I was more than a little nervous when Jones went.

The celebrations afterwards almost seemed more based on relief at not throwing it away than actually winning it.

Chasing small totals often causes problems. I don't read anythnig into that innings at all.

We've had their top/middle order batsmen struggling in all tests so far. It's been their tail that has been a problem for us.

A lot of their players are going to have to raise their game by quite a bit to put real pressure on us.

Last point, the Aussies have not declared once in four tests. They have had to bat the whole way down, every time. We've declared once and also forced the follow on once. The momentum is with England.
