Marlon Harewood

He has just returned from playing in China and is looking for a club. If I was Gus I would be on the blower making this happen.

Ok so he is not the greatest talent, but he more than makes up for that in athleticism.

Come on Gus he literally could be the missing Jigsaw to your puzzle.

What are your thoughts?

He was part of the most destructive opposition strikeforce I have witnessed live - Forest Away on a Tues night a few years back where Harewood, Lester and Johnson ripped us to shreds for about 70 mins and could easily have been 8 or 9 nil up... as it was they only won 3-2 and if we had played for another 10 mins I reckon we would have got a draw or nicked it!

Having said all that, I wouldn't take him now...

I thought you meant the public sector strike problems. That confused me.

Dont waste your $$. Flopped at the Villa although he had some minor success with Blackpool I still wouldnt take him.

Played really well in the Championship with a certain Mr Zamora at West Ham, and helped them towards promotion to the Premiership.

Personally i have no issue with signing him. Might be worth signing him on a deal till the end of the season, with an option to extend?

Seems to be split on this subject.

I believe that a loan to the end of the season I think he is better than B Painter all day long I really think we would be missing a trick, Having said that wage demands might scupper a deal although he couldnt have been on anymore than 10,000 a week at Blackpool.

Is this a joke thread? I only ask as why would someone who can score goals in the Championship be playing in China??????

He was only really successful when at Forest. Elsewhere he has been ordinary other than his ability to miss the proverbial barn door with similar shovel.

I don't think we have any striking problems, we just have a lack of creativity in our team to provide chances.

Pavlyachencko would be too expensive for us. Harewood on loan until the end of the season pay him 3-4 grand a week he would be good for 10 goals in our remaining fixtures and also would take loads of heat off of CMS

I agree completely the thing is most of our creative players have been injured. Over the next coming weeks they will get fit then if you got Harewood alongside CMS, you would have power and pace up front with the skill and flare of Noonie backing them up. I can see it now and I think it would be class.

Not a Joke thread at all. I would agree that he does on occasion miss the "proverbial" barn door but his athleticism mixed with CMS running into the channels will open defences especially at home.

I agree it would not be everyones cup of tea. Also about the Chinese Super league its at the standard of our championship so its not a massive step down to go to china.

If he is within our wage cap, go for it, proven at this level, and bags of experience

His wage demands wouldnt be much probably about as much as someone like CMS. Everyone knows that not even Charlie Adam earned over £10 grand at Blackpool per week
