I, also, am struggling to see the negatives here. Hopefully the away fans WILL use this system too, then they'll forget to spend half of the cash they had on the card and the club will get free money :)
Any money on your card is YOURS. The Club has no access to it. It only passes to the Club when you decide to spend it.

I think he means like I did at Amsterdam Arena, you get a card, put 20euros on it in a machine, spend 12 euros, can't be arsed to get a refund, walk off. Lose card within the 12~months between visits

The directors should remember that to put bums on seats as many options as possible should be made available to buy tickets, which must include cash.

Where has it been said that you can't buy tickets using cash ???

Is the plan still to have the stadium cashless? Insider has not answered the most recent question regarding this and this thread was the last I had heard of the idea.
