With the euphoria of the first season at the Amex now a distant memory are we now going to start paying the price.
With so many travel restrictions in place we were sold the idea that the Amex would offer more than just average catering facilities so when the game is over we could stay behind & enjoy a drink or something to eat while the crowds disperse.
We were promised that the Amex would offer more than your basic football fayre.

I understand that whatever is put on the menu has to be mass produced & cost effective but the Amex does does not offer anything that other football clubs don't
apart from home made pies.

Having just watched 2 matches at the Amex I have noticed that not only have the prices gone up (excessively) on certain items but there is less to choice from.

Are we now paying the price for life at the AMEX?

I guess it would be acceptable if Amex food & drink prices have gone up by the inflation rate but any more than that suggests that Azure cocked up their own costs and pricing structure and are now looking to break even at our expense. That would almost be acceptable if they get a real grip on the standard of service and availability of food.

Last season I thought the selection of food and beverages at The Amex compared well with other Championship grounds except we get the privilege of Harveys and Piglets pies plus one or two add ons like the noodles. The only significant omission was chips for those who can't do without. The rest of the menu looks pretty standard with the same hot beverages, chocolates and sweets as other grounds. The one major difference at The Amex is the quality of the concourses and encouragement to use these after the match which makes most other grounds look like prison wings, only less welcoming.

thank you for your input.

My biggest issue is the fact that kronenburg is no longer available & I think 70p on a bottle of fosters is a bit excessive.

Totally agree and i for one will not pay £4 a pint to drink out of a plastic cup.
I will just stay in the pub longer and delay my arrival at the ground.

i think this thread is worthy. When it costs £100 a month for 3 season tickets and at least £50 per match inside the ground people are withing there rights to moan about absoulte shite service food running out even before you have got in and over inflated prices. We all wanted the Amex but there is a differnce between all hail the Amex and having the piss taken out of people and famillies.

It's simple have a few beers in the pub have a lunch before you get to the ground , most of us never bothered at Withdean with the whole pie & lager experience inside the ground . The club drummed it into us about the whole Amex experience of football with gourmet burgers(which they are not) & pies (seriously would you pay £4 for a pie on it's own anywhere else ) it was a novelty in the 1st season but is wearing thin it's like a trip to wembley you don't mind being ripped off once a year but 23 trips a season your not gonna keep forking out.

Just come back from the Olympics where a bottle of beer costs £4.30
In comparison The Amex is a bargain

You dont go to the olympics at least 23 times a year,

Queues last night at a Lower attendance game indicates not many are put off by £6.75 for a pie and pint. Looks like it will pay off

Are you unable to read the other threads on this subject then, haven't said the subject isn't worthy, but how many threads need to be started about it? We are all aware what the prices have gone up to and have been since the Chelski game!
