First up Derby v Luton. And what a horrible game of football it is. Derby appear to have sacked their ground staff and replaced them with first year Agricultural College students - who are all on magic mushrooms.

How on earth are there so many bare patches when the ball’s never on the floor?

Those of us who were old enough to remember will recall quite what a pudding of a pitch the Baseball Ground was - it was truly dreadful
When i went there with my dad many years ago it resembled a school sand pit, tbf the same could be said about the Goldstone Ground

Derby vs Luton really represents the glamour of English football

I saw a thing yesterday that every club in the championship still had something to play for. Even the clubs in mid-table could either go up or down.

Crazy!

I played football with a guy who made one championship appearance and then tumbled down the leagues and got fat. He could still ping it 50 yards and had the touch of a magician. I remember saying "wow if that's how good you have to be to be a fat failed footballer, I will NEVER say any professional is 'rubbish' etc, especially at league level"

But this game is RUBBISH

Is it arrogant to never look down the table to lower leagues? Never have done, doubt I ever will now. Just not interesting to me

(Do confess to keeping a close eye on the results of OM Marseilles and SSC Napoli tho)

Brighton and Brentford are nicer places than either Derby or Luton
Derby's alright. Famous old East MIdlands town. Always enjoyed my visits there. What's not nice about it ?
