Some splendid marketing bollocks from our pals at Nike:

Big snub of the derelict Fulham Town Hall, despite it being much closer to Stamford Bridge than Chelsea Town Hall

I think this is bogus. I have all sorts of books about the Albion, and none of them (i.e. Carder and Harris "Seagulls! The story of Brighton and Hove Albion FC") refer to these colours, none of the (admittedly sepia) pictures have players wearing anything other than blue and white stripes , white shorts in this period, and a quick check on Historical Kits backs me up : https://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Brighton_and_Hove_Albion/Brighton_and_Hove_Albion.htm. In short, this shirt is fictional.

Phew!! Happy to be proved wrong.

The new club shop opens on July 2nd. Surely that will see the launch of at least one of our new shirts otherwise it’s a huge missed opportunity (and the new store will be pretty empty with no replica kits to sell).

But this is Brighton so we will probably launch the new club shop with discounts on the outgoing kit.

The conversation in the Nike office went something like:
Project Manager (Friday, 4:55pm): Sporting wanted a shirt by the end of the week, can you knock something up?
Designer (Friday, 5:02pm): Done. Check your email.

I've no idea unfortunately. Definitely Howard Wilkinson of course. Would love to know.
Yes.. could be a cracker that kit IF done properly (Adidas or New Balance say and not Nike screwing it up).

I think that Sporting shirt is fine, nice and simple and better than our process that is more like;

Designer (Mid May): Sorry I'm just doing Barca / Inter / someone else more important I'll come back to you
Project Manager (end May): do you have an update?
Designer (end May): Sorry I'm out of office until July
Project Manager (July): do you have an update?
Designer (mid July): I've created a striped shirt
Project Manager: Can you change the sleeves to a different colour?
Designer: It'll make it look worse but sure
Project Manager (late July): Can you change the back to three bits of fabric stitched together?
Designer: It'll make it look worse but sure
Project Manager (early August): Can you make the stripes off centre?
Designer: It'll make it look worse but sure
Project Manager (September): That'll do, we should probably think about shipping these sometime soon
