Space Oddity only Number 27????? Something seriously wrong there.
How can that 16 week (yawn) Bryan Adams bilge be higher up the chart?

Would say the same for Bridge Over Troubled Water, and Another Brick In The Wall. Classics - way too low down the list.

there iwll always be controversy over list like this, because everyone has different tastes in music. the people that could actually be arsed ringing up are probably inbreds

The Boomtown Rats' superb I Don't Like Mondays hasn't made the top 100 No 1s, but something/someone called "spiller" is apparently amongst the 10 best ever?

MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm:nono:

See, we all have different tastes. I was a fan of the Rats before they even released a record and I would have said that of their #1s, Rat Trap was far superior to Mondays, which I rather loathe. Even better was She's So Modern but I expect that was too good to make #1.

Anyway, where are Barry Manilow and the Sex Pistols?

She's So Modern is superb. So is Looking After Number One. I don't think either got to number 1 though. Funnily enough, I don't particularly like Rat Trap.

Why no Gary Glitter?

"The Voting Public"

If this is the standard Channel 4 Top 100, then Channel 4 chose those 100 songs & the public selected from them. So it's not quite true to say the public selected these.

Saying that, I do agree with the top three, but am amazed Band Aid is so low down. Also, didn't the Stone Roses ever get to Number 1?? If so, the inclusion of World In Motion by New Order is a joke.

And where is Bring your Daughter to the Slaughter by Iron Maiden. A modern day classic
:D

The only way to judge the greatest no.1 single is on stats, not on a stupid public vote. Copies sold, lenght of stay at the top etc. Besides no Whigfield, it can't be right!

12. Millennium - Robbie Williams

Anyone else have a problem with that.

Not only is Robbie Williams a talentless wanker but that song is even bad by his bollocks standards. I wish the f***ing general public would wake up and realise that this man has NO talent. He DOESN'T write any of his songs and you'll notice that since he split with his writing partner that he hasn't realsed anything at all. He rode on the back of Gary Barlows songs in Take That and he rode on the back of his writers songs when single. That show he put on doing old Ratpack tunes was an insult IMHO and i wa astonished when people came out praising it.
He should be seen for what he is, a fat useless prick who is only famous because of other people.

And he supports Port vale. ****.
