The thing that pisses me off about this is the way the OB we’re looking all mean and tuff and moody as they were liberally dispersed all the way from the station to the ground but nowhere to be seen when it kicked off. Thorough planning??? I think not!!

I thought I read that there were coordinated flare/banger distractions inside and outside the stadium to draw the police away from the turnstiles at this point. If that is correct, there was thorough planning on the Palace thieves side, or to put another way premeditation. There are people on the Palace bulletin boards who are arguing that the Albion should refund those that bought tickets and didn't get in. It would seem fairer for these costs to be met by the person who has encouraged Palace's association with these criminals. Put your hand in your pocket Parish. You owe that to your club's real fans.

Should give the stewards yellow paint spray, then send in the OB to arrest all those covered in Yellow (if they're brave enough).

True, BUT if a couple of police were at the turnstiles, it wouldn't have happened.

At 7:15 there were police near the turnstiles and also sniffer dogs. Police rep on the radio this evening said that they were diverted by other priorities so not everyone got checked.

I’m surprised there’s no real talk of criminal action. Surely the actions they displayed last night verge on GBH in some cases, trespass etc in others?

Who cares what their fans on their message board are arguing? Anyone with a brain cell to their name can tell it’s all on them.

There were clearly loads of police on duty last night.

You telling me that from all of those police there last night you don't have some on the turnstiles?

If that's the case, the Police need to have a long hard look at their planning. After all they've only had 6 months to plan for the game.

I'm not blaming the police for the actions of the AU, they are the idiots, but not to have police on the turnstiles seems poor to me.

Some stewards valiantly doing their job, for which total respect. Others just standing by just thinking 'F*** me, I'm not getting paid enough to get involved in THIS' while the vermin just stroll into the ground. Just won't do :nono:

Not sure if this will display properly, but it's available in the 'The Goldstone Ground' Facebook page

And they can't identify them ???

What truly cracks me up and confuses me in equal measure, is how these soppy ultras play like they actually want a bit of genuine fv. They went where the police designated as Away pubs, making sure they had protection from literally hundreds of riot police. Then they play up with their pyro and smoke etc. If they really want what they claim to want then why don't they at least TRY and make some kind of attempt to dodge the police. I'm not condoning anything here - it just really confuses me as to why they want to instigate all this aggravation from the safety of a heavy police escort. Got to be said Sussex police have failed massively too by essentially protecting this wanky little outfit while doing nothing to stop what they were up to.

Just about sums up my thoughts. Plus posing for that photo in Queens Road like they've taken over the town mid afternoon on a week day. They really think they're the dogs, but have no self awareness at all; the rest of football just think these Ultras are beyond a joke.
They would of been at school today going on about how they took Brighton, when in actual fact they spent all day hiding behind a police escort; except when they managed to rush the gates & bundle over a few stewards.

Why? When was the last time we had people trying to rush the gates down here (or anywhere for that matter). You expect most of the flash points to be at the station and up. At the turnstiles you’d expect less chances of trouble really - especially with what appears dozens of stewards. Hindsight is 20/20 but can you imagine if there was a load of coppers there and then it kicked off at somewhere round the stadium where there would be interaction between the fans.

My thoughts are that there was no coordination, just an idea to go to ground without tickets, a bit of pushing and shoving and an opportunity presented itself and they took it. You can’t plan things like this with big numbers I should know as I’ve tried it. Police looked like dicks letting this happen but then so did their police when we opened the gate at Half time to smack some Palace a few years ago at their place. Swings and roundabouts, no one died ay ?

Looks like someone already inside released the door for those outside.
Plenty that came in took down their scarfs from their faces.
Refunds can be given by CPFC or HF can start a just giving campaign.

Both Clubs issued statements informing CPFC that they needed their id cards which were to be checked at the turnstile against the name on the tickets.
This clearly could cause issues around crowd management (queues due to checks).
Even I could forsee that would need managing and assistance by police and not just the Dads Army Stewards.
