If Liverpool want him to develop away from the club next season then the next logical step would be a loan move to a Premier league club.

Any idea how long he has left on his contract at Liverpool? I've had a quick search and they signed him Jan 2012. A 4 or 5 year deal? If it's his last year maybe a prem loan for him as you say is sensible or they will never know if he can cut it in the top division. I wonder what sort of fee he would command with a year left on his deal. I can see him being picked up by a spanish side rather than an english championship side.
