Listeners are voting this way on Radio 5 Live at present. Do you agree? I thought it was the worst of the three on show, but Blackpool had to be one of the dirties holes I have been to in Britian. What is your worst town or city center you have visited?

Blackpool is a rechid hive of scum and villainy, but thats why its good.

Hardly be classed as a shopping centre any more as I believe the only shop still open is Comets. Sure needs a bulldozer through it. There we're plans last year for a multiplex on the site. ( Or should it be sight? ) These were turned down by the planners in favour of residential flats. I was walking past the Town hall one day when I heard a man say that a mutiplex wouldn't line the councillors pockets so much.....Disgraceful thing for THAT man to say! Everyone knows the local councillors of Worthing only have the best interests of the community at heart.

where is this in Worthing? I can't place it. Having been through Niddrie Mains Road in Craigmillar (in a car) which was one of the other two contenders, I can safely say that Teville Gate must be some shithole if it beats Craigmillar.

It's the dump just east of the main station next to the bridge. Needs tearing down.

I thought Teville gate was that shopping centre further up in town which is in fact indoors. Looking at these pictures though I would suggest getting Al-Qaeda in. They'll get rid of it in minutes!!

That's the Guildbourne centre. Worthing must be unique to have TWO of the worst examples of sixties architecture ( ? ) within a mile of each other.

I live in Worthing and am in the process of moving out. Teville Gate is an absolute disgrace, lying as it does between the towns main railway station and the town centre.

I remember doing a school project on out of town shopping centres 20 years ago - one of sites we researched was Teville Gate, as it was in decline following the opening of places like Tescos in Durrington.

I recall that half of it was closed down 20 years ago. The council have therefore sat on this problem and watched it grow SINCE THE 1970S!!

:(

What about The Tricorn in Portsmouth? That's like 20 Teville Gates stacked on one another. Horrible. I think they're going to bomb it soon or something.

The Guildbourne Centre and Churchill Square. I spent far too many hours being dragged round those concrete monsters as a child, bored out of my mind whilst my mum went shopping. Thank God I discovered football!
