Are you keen to see Gary Glitter in action as well, Magoo?

Again, it's CHILD ABUSE. I'm amazed parents are having a laugh about it in this thread.

everyone knows it's not really child abuse when the abuser is a semi-attractive woman. it's only deplorable if it's a middle aged man.

that was a dig at modern press by the way, i wasn't really being serious.

Sounds like a case of the 13 yr old getting a bit of a crush on the coach, and the coach being stupid enough to get caught up in it.

The mum has probably listened to her daughter's protestations of "but I love her" and gone along with it or risk losing the child, but it still makes you wonder what then made her go to the police later on.

As per a lot of reactions on here, people don't seem to consider it in the same light as they would if it was a 29 year old man.

Out of interest Edna you being a copper an all, what is your view on it being two females.

Does it make a difference to to you, and the old bill in general?

If your first reaction to a story about a THIRTEEN year old girl was 'is she fit', than certainly your mind has been corrupted by something.
That's what I'm saying, and judging by this thread I'm not in a minority. Obviously I know it is very WRONG and if I saw what the girl actually looked like she would seem alot younger than the image in my mind. I'm just making an observation of mine, and others reactions to this staory, this isn't a debate about weather I'm a paedo because I know I'm not.

If I was a lesbo, being sent to prison and being locked up all day with a bunch of sex deprived females for a long stretch would NOT be too much of a punishment, unless of course my mind has been corrupted by watching Trailer Trash Beanflicking Jailbird Dykes 7 on DVD a couple of times

Which sums up the case for the defence.

Will you be posting images of your daughter here when she gets to 13? :thud:

The discussion has I believe displayed the hypocrisies, contradictions and thought processes of man and our society. This has been pointed out by a number of posters.

But I'm talking to you specifically.

Given your holier than thou attitude to parenting, I'm genuinely amazed you think it's appropriate to make jokes about child abuse.

Fit enough for tennis

having looked at the pic of the defendant, I am intrigued by the statement that she wore the young girls clothes. I would have thought that wearing 13 year old's clothes would be a bit of a tight squeeze (forgive the pun) for a 29 year old woman!

We don't get to make the decision, to be honest, that would come down to the CPS, but generally speaking, an adult of 29 who's engaging in that kind of stuff with a thirteen year old can expect to get arrested.

There are various things that would affect the outcome, however- where the child has obviously gone along with it (as opposed to being forced) would not affect whether it was an offence, but might impact to an extent on the sentencing. Plus there are other factors like whether the adult was someone in a position of trust, ie a teacher, sports coach, scout leader etc.

The law itself doesn't differentiate between male & female offenders. The offence of rape can only be committed by a man, but there is another offence of equal gravity which could be committed by a woman.

I don't think it would make a difference to sentencing if the offender was male, but you'd have to ask a judge. I guess the consequences of men doing it (ie pregnancy etc) are worse, perhaps that's why society as a whole seems to have a different view of it.

The coach in question should not be classed as a paedoplile at all as this is a person who is attacted to pre-pubescent children. She would come under the catagory of a hebephile who is someone who is attracted to adolescents.

Of course in some societies it is quite common to take a wife when they are as young as 13 and not considered strange in any way. Not that I adhere to that.
