The beer being poured into flimsy paper cups from the bottom up pint pouring system was bizarre to say the least…..about 15% of the pint was also lost on the transfer of liquid from A to B

What has ‘tech’ got to do with a human pouring a drink into a paper cup ?

Because their swish beer pint filling in 4 secs "tech" fails when either they don't have enough plastic cups or they can't be
arsed to recycle them, hence paper cups.

Spurs like to bang on they are a leading light in environmental friendliness or the like, usual PR bullshit.

Just far enough away from LDC
The bottom filling system cost a fortune to install and the cups they use are expensive to replace. The snap shut mechanism fails before the cup meets the end of its normal useful life and they become leaky.

I think they have also found that the away end is where the cups suffer most damage hence the move to the waxed paper version

The industry has been using them for a number of years and nearly all locations end up removing them.
