Tech advice needed - game installation issues

I've got a bit of time on my hands at the moment so invested in International Cricket Captain 2008 to occupy a bit of time. Installed ok, but when I go to load it it says to install the original disk rather than a back up. It is the original disk! I'm on Vista home premium and backl of box says compatible.

I've reinstalled a couple of times, also followed an arror message to SecuROM website which tells me to do stuff to device manager which doesn't do anything. Phoned software manufacturer who said could be virtual driver problem. Told them I did have Daemon Tools on a while back but deleted, they reckon there may be something still hidden in the registry. From here I'm lost!!!!

Any sensible suggestions would be great.

Have you tried switching it off and on again?

Where did you buy it from? take it back.

Sounds like either a damaged or copied CD to me.
