Albion 2
Chelsea 1

That is such good news - something to tell all these 10 year old `Chelsea` fans that live in Sussex. It will help them come of age and realise they should support a local club.
Any news on a stunning victory over Manure - to mop up the other half of the class?
Oh yes indeedy. 1-0 at the Goldstone sometime in 1983. Wardy scored. The next time we played them was at Wembley ...

(Doing this from memory, hope it's accurate!)

Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Think we could only include teams that we have actually played in the league.

Man City seems to spring to mind, as does Exeter for some reason.

Didnt ALAN do it as a question in a Forty Notes quiz night years ago???

We stuffed Exeter at Withdean New Years Day 2000, with Freeman scoring the first goal of the new millenium.

(I think it was Exeter??? )

I've seen us beat both those teams- Exeter was relatively recently in a game with a record number of bookings.

Can't remember the full details, but have definately beaten them in the league, when we were in the old Div 1. Full facts are vague, but it involved something along the lines of John Bond (then City manager) saying something like "little teams like Brighton shouldn't be in Division 1, and don't deserve to be there, and we don't want them there", and then promptly getting thrashed by said "little team" either 4-1 or 4-0. Think it might have been around New Year time.

I did. And CHELSEA was the answer.

Incidentally, the two seasons we played Chelsea (and where we lost all four times) was in the old Second Division, and Chelsea finished champions.

So that time when they came down in September 1983 and wrecked the place was the first ever league meeting between the two teams. Charming.
