Worthing
This. Alzate in particular, so comfortable on the ball in tight spaces, he has a lovely arrogance/confidence about him.

And Napoli showed last night how Liverpool can be got at. Accurately weighted balls down the channels inside their fullbacks to chase after, get their defence turned round. In Connolly/Maupay we have the pace, in Trossard/Gross/Alzate we have the guile.

Liverpool have been scraping results for weeks now. Lets get into them, and give ourselves a fighting chance.

Do you know Easy ? For a moment you had me going there..... nice one.

Sticking with 3-5-2

-------------------Ryan
--------Webster Dunk Burn
Montoya Stephens Propper Alzate
--------------Mooy Gross
-----------------Maupay

Button, Schelloto, Duffy, Bissouma, Trossard, Connolly, Murray
For me this is just about right, they play three up top and push the wing backs up high we need to counter that. Let's be honest it is damage limitation however Potter is excellent at tactical changes as the game goes on.

Easy!

Ryan
Webster - Dunk - Burn
Montoya - Stephens - Propper - March
Gross
Connolly - Maupay

I'd play a deep Houghton-style 6-3-1 first half

Ryan
Webster - Duffy Dunk - Burn (or Bong?) (Bernardo if fit?)
- Stephens - Propper -
Gross - Mooy - Trossard
Connolly

followed by a possession style defence in the second, bringing on Maupay for Mooy, and after we score replacing Gross or Trossard with Montoya. If we don't score with our Gross corner I'll bring on Alzate.

This will be interesting to see where GPs thinking is, particularly after the Man Utd and Leicester games

Webster - Dunk - Burn
Alzate. March
Stephens - Propper
Mooy Trossard Gros

Like it. The old ‘play 12 and see if anyone notices’ tactic.

If anyone is going to the game in a group tomorrow but has last minute drop outs both me and my son would like to meet the group at the ground to give the two sick people a get well card.

Honestly I think if we choose to go with a 3-5-2 formation we're asking for a hiding. Their front three will have an absolute field-day if we rock up with that formation, so easy to get in behind for the likes of Mane and Salah.

I would try to be pragmatic and actually go more defensive. Getting anything from Liverpool away would be an absolute steal.

Ryan
Montoya Duffy Dunk Burn
Mooy Stephens Propper Alzate
Gross
Maupay

Keep Trossard in reserve to make an impact from the bench. He has been so effective coming on versus tiring legs.

No idea. What we need to do is defend deep and hit them on the break by getting the balls in the channels behind their full backs who'll spend most of the game deep in our half.

I disagree, I think a back 3/5 is the only way we can go. We basically need to copy what Napoli did against them this week with a back 3 and were excellent.

Liverpool are strongest in the wide area’s and the idea of TAA and Salah ganging up on Burn alone, and Robertson and Mane doing the same against Montoya is giving me nightmares, we need to support them as much as possible.

I would start with Dunk, Webster and Burn as a back 3 with Montoya and Alzate as the wing backs. They can both get up and down the pitch well and on their sides will be then backed up by Webster and Burn with Dunk dealing with Firminho in the middle with Stephens to drop in alongside when necessary.

Liverpool are decent but nothing special in centre midfield so we can sacrifice someone there I feel to back up the wide areas. My side would like this with Gross and Mooy offering flexibility to be able to drift out wide, come inside or get forward to support Maupay:

Ryan

Montoya
Webster
Dunk
Burn
Alzate

Gross
Propper
Stephens
Mooy

Maupay
