How on earth after the last few matches can anyone propose Adingra starts ahead of Mitoma? That's a really solid looking team except for Adingra who is about as solid as a plate of jelly. With the players who might return Sunday I'd actually say Adingra might be lucky to make the bench.
I think several people have now been conditioned to interpret Mitoma is "available" , as "not a chance in hell of being able to last 90 minutes".

It's been a tough season for all of us.

That would give Fabian a nice problem to have, and between Hinsh, Wieffer and Ayari there really is no wrong answer.
I’d go Wieffer. I like his more rangy style.

Using the Hartel analogy Weiffer is by far more likely but it will surely be O’Riley
I think you are probably right on both accounts.

Wieffer should on paper be good in that Hartel role ( funnily enough when we signed him I was thinking of him either in a Libero/sweeper role or Hartel type player but I was disappointed with what I was seeing. Ayari on the other hand, after a slow burn as a loans player, is a breakout player for me this season - he’s a player I would want to push the boundaries on - I don’t think we have begun to see anything like his full potential yet.

I think you are also right that Fab will use O’Riley behind Welbz (as I admitted above) regardless of what I think! 😁

Not sure of team but imagine squad to be

Verbruggen Steele
Veltman, Lamptey, JPVH, Dunk, Igor , Estupinan
Wieffer, Hinshelwood, Ayari, Gomez, Baleba,
Minteh, March, Adingra, Mitoma
O Riley, Gruda,
Welbeck

Still out:
Rushworth (no room)

Webster (training, no room, not quite there)
Pedro (back for Liverpool/Spurs)
Georginio (back "before end of season")
Ferdi ( ? )
Milner (? )

U21s
Tasker, Simmonds, Knight, Howell.

better to have Mitoma for the last 30 mins than the start.
Adingra was all right vs. WH too.
We have no better back up left winger.
When Mitoma gets on, I would have him up top in a 4-4-2 anyway, with Wellbeck and a midfield diamond.

O'Riley has already performed pretty well in the last 3 despite overall results. I think we might just see in the last 4 why we (and other teams) were so keen to get him. Delighted Igor and Webster potentially back, that is huge.
Veltman back in for me, Van Hecke, Hinsh drops and Wafer shifts in...

I'm assuming van Hecke will be able to return, pushing Baleba back into midfield.

If Joel Veltman is able to start, there's a real quandary in midfield, isn't there?

Ayari, Hinshelwood and Wieffer all have strong claims to sit alongside Baleba, and I'm not sure you can rule out Diego Gomez either. One of those nice problems to have, I guess.

I'd have Mitoma back in for Adingra, and I'd like to see March start again if he's abe to.
March over Minteh?

Good selection problem, but there's also the "I want to prove the ex club wrong" element.

For March it's just another game, for Minteh a bit more personal?

They'll both feature at some point you'd guess?
