'Quality' is obviously a subjective thing.
Many of our current squad have 'qualities'.
Butters is strong, experienced, fantastic in the air. It is no coincidence that in the years Guy has been a regular, we have developed the two best young centre halves the club has produced in decades.
Lynch is mostly very composed, decent in the air, and can play the ball.
Hinsh is a great tackler. I would love him to have a full injury free season to show what he can do.
Whing is solid, looks very good going forward, distribution less good.
Hammond on his day is excellent at our level. On a day when we were outclassed as a team at Upton Park, Hammond was one of the best players on the pitch.
Cox has a brilliant touch, and the potential to do really well. He needs to be encouraged to run at defenders though as he checks back far to often when faced up one on one.
Robinson, has pace, and while his detractors will say there is little else, you should never underestimate the importance of pace. Again he's a confidence player who will do well when he's in a good spell like before Xmas last season. Enjoy his good spells and get off his back when he's in a dip. You may find the good bits come back sooner when there are not 5000 people telling him he's shit.
Forster has obvious class. He was head and shoulders above anyone else against Reading. If he stays fit he will score at least 20 goals this season. I am SURE of that.
Revell is tireless, always willing to do the legwork, which I'm sure Forster will appreciate. He's also not a bad player. He has a great shot on him and with a bit of luck they'll start flying in.
Reid has plenty of ability. I think he's a right midfielder myself, but I'll happily have him in the middle if required.
To say we have 'no quality players' is plain stupid. Of course there are areas you'd like to strengthen but that is true of fans of every club at every level. The squad we have, without additions is not going to tear up this league or be in serious danger of going the other way. I think we'll flirt with the play-offs at times, flirt with the bottom six at times, and end up smack in the middle.
