Sussex but not by the sea
I too agree with the OP's starting 11
Fitness/freshness wise starting Welbeck makes sense with JP off the bech at some point. (It also means JP starts v Villa which also makes sense).
This is a big test of FH with Dunk. IMO no way should our captain start, because a) he needs to earn his place back/wait for his chance, b) he was bloody awful at Forest, and c) IMO we move the ball around faster with Webster & JPvH at CB.

I think there will be some care taken with players who have travelled, but some positions we won't have that luxury

Verbruggen
Hinshelwood - Dunk - Webster - Estupinan
Baleba - Ayari
Minteh - Rutter - Adingra
Welbeck

Van Hecke - Pedro - Mitoma - Gomez - Solly to be brought on if needed.

JPVH has to start.

I'd be very surprised / disappointed if he started.
Me too.

But I think he will
JPVH has played 210 minutes over the past 9 days.
with a potential for a further 210 in the next 5

Suspect a decision will have to be made on when and where he plays.
30 - 60 mins vs Forest (depending on result) and 90 minutes vs Villa - seems preferable.

I'd rather he came on to replace Dunk and played again on Wednesday.

Genuine chance he could be asked to play 420 minutes in 14 days.
Which might risk his availability for the rest of the season.
If aren't taking the cup seriously, go ahead and play a rusty Dunk from the start.

Up against their pace :(

So he's played 30 minutes more than Baleba... Tough luck.

He'll start tomorrow unless sick or injured.

That’s the team to lose the match

I can’t believe anyone is suggesting we rest players for this match. It’s the biggest match of the season. JPvH and Mitoma must play. I can see why Welbs would play as Pedro might not last 120 minutes and we need him for the penalties if they happen, but otherwise we have to go as strong as possible

Forest will be a hard team to break down if we have to chase the game at 60mins even by bringing on a strong bench.
I'd prefer to go strong early and go in at half time in the ascendancy.
But what do I know.
Looking forward to it and the terrace.

So, post FH presser it sounds as though Veltman and Lamptey are out. Dunk and O'Riley could be fit, and Mitoma should be fit.

I'd go

Verbruggen
Hinshelwood, JPvH, Webster, Pervis
Baleba, Wieffer
Minteh, Georginio, Mitoma
Welbeck

I'd bench Joao Pedro and Gomez to avoid having 6 starters coming off the back of playing in different continents.

Quite fancy Wieffer to start to give us a bit of robust-ness in midfield, but that may just be a bit of PTSD from the last time we met. I'd expect FH to go with Ayari, though.
Done 👍

I think there's a strong possibility that some of our players who have travelled, might not be in the best shape for 120 minutes.
Forest are an extremely well drilled side, who I can see frustrating us for the first 75 minutes.

I would much rather our better players were being brought on to win the game, than being replaced with extra time and penalties looming.

Feel sorry for Rutter there. I don't think there is much to choose between him and Georginio. Very similar players.
