Yes, but we can't get him now... either a big mistake by MM and the board or big Chris can't hack it at our level... not sure, but Stoke didn't seem to think he good cut it in the CCC...

If we were worried about what other Championship sides thought why the hell did we sign McCammon from Millwall who thought he was useless?

Or Carole who was turned down by Soton.

I personally dont think that Big Chris was good enough for this league, He didn't cut it with Stoke and wasn't That good down here.

If I remember rightly, Iwelumo had 5 in 10 for us which is not bad by any stretch of the imagination. Now of course that was in a lower league and in a team playing well in that league, but nevertheless does anyone seriously think he'd be any less effective than McCammon?

The question isn't whether we think he'd be any worse or better than McCammon. Its an irrelevence. Iwelumo is not good enough for this division, end of story. Whats the point of getting rid of one shite player and replacing him with another who can't cut it at this level ?

Lets not get blinded by McCammons shit-ness into thinking ANY old carthorse will do as a replacement.

I'm sure he didn't score 5.

I can remember 3.
Chesterfield Away
Hartlepool Home
Wrexham Away

I think he played more than 10 aswell. Can't be bothered to look it up though.

There are a lot of deluded people on here.

He was/is/ should be the type of player mcghee should be after because he is a REALISTIC target

He WAS a realistic target but his value now is probably quite high depending on what contract he is on at colchester. I thought he did a bloody good job for us and not only is he better than big mac and turienzo (from what we've seen) he gives us a different option to what we have.

As usual, the old rose-tinted specs come on when looking back at a former player who some think could now "do a job" for us. How many of us were gutted to see him leave at the end of that season ?

I was at least disappointed. He had a good enough goalscoring record, and more importantly, linked up well with Leon. The two of them began to look like a real partnership in very little time. I think we'd be in a much stronger position this season with him in our side.

Iwelumo got 4 goals in 13 games for us, so not too shabby I agree. If we go down, then he could probably do a job - just not in this division.

I think the reason why big chris is being talked about is because he wasnt given the chance but worse players such as big mac and turienzo were. It would be a gamble in this league imo.

4 in 11.

But really the key statistic for you to think about is the 4 in 41 at tier 2 level quoted earlier. Big Mac has 4 goals for us in about those number, maybe slightly less, appearances.

Do you realise how many goals in open play your Swansea hero got in all the games he played with Chris? It was one or two. For a team about to be promoted, that was an indifferent return.

But heigh-ho, you can blame McGhee for that too if you like.

im sure if we looked up the threads from when he left most of us weren't to disapointed i know i wasn't but do feel he'd do a far better job at holding the ball up than trolley wouldn't be the end of our goalscoring worries at this level

I just remember him letting people down terribly in the Playoffs. In the run-up to the Swindon game, Iwelumo was sporting a SPECTACULAR Jackson 5 afro. In honour of this, many Albion fans invested in afro wigs and travelled to Swindon adorned in them. Except come the day of the match, Chris had disappointingly weaved and tugged his splendid afro into mundane, routine Rio-like braids.

It was a shattering blow to the travelling contingent that day, I can tell you.
