Please let the miracle happen!
When the ball hits the net........

I hope not as players going back to their previous clubs rarely work as an example see Crofts a very poor imitation of the man we sold to Norwich. Would Murray produce the goods if Gus ate humble pie, I am not so sure that he would and the problem is price. Tyone Barnett cost Posh £1m from Crawley, but did he produce much to make him worth that money. IMHO no a few headers against 2 central defenders who aren't the best at winning headers but they all went no where near a player or the goal. I don't think that he would have won those if E Abd had been playing. Lets try Dobbie and CMS together to see how it works before spending mega bucks on another striker.

But Gus has to find a way of playing the two of them in a side where the first name on the team sheet is Barnes. How is he going to do that?

Maybe wait until Barnes has a suspension which should be pretty soon.

He was on the pitch last night - Tyrone Barnett. Don't think he lost a header last night. Knocked down a few for their midfielders. Can't see Peterborough selling though.

I think Barrett would be expensive to acquire as Crawley would take a hefty wedge from the transfer fee. We need to go really big - Bobby Zamora.

I wholly disagree. We can score, the problem is that at home, teams come and play for the draw. Peterborough packed the defence last night, at one point I counted 7 of their players in a well formed defensive line which, even if we had Crouch, would never have been able to pick him out. A lot of people are complaining about our players, but every time the ball was played to the box, Brisley and Little cleared the lines, as you would expect for two tall well built centre backs.

Spunking cash we don't have on a target man for hoofball is not the way Gus, or I for that matter, want us to play. Stop moaning about us not having a striker, and spend the time and effort supporting the strikers we do have. They'll come good. We're only 7 points off the top and Hoskins is back.

George Boyd is transfer listed , how did he play last night ?
Always seen him as a player who can play killer balls.

To me it is simple. It is so clearly the final piece of the jigsaw. Currently we are Reading from the first half of last season. If we want to go up we need to sign a Jason Roberts type and become the Reading from the second half of last season. £5million on a striker gets us in the play offs at least in my opinion.

Gus doesn't want the ball crossed in for a target man to head it home, as that's not the way we play. I don't really get it, isn't that a suitable way to play when you're keen on using traditional wingers? If we can't do that, the opposition know what we're going to do and it's easier for them to try and stop us. Do Swansea ever dabble in headed goals?

I think that Gus wants our wide men to get to the bye line and then pull it back to the men rather than lump it across the goal mouth/6yd box, which then becomes a 75/25 ball in favour of the central defenders and goalkeeper.

This is an interesting scenario, given that there is clearly an issue with converting chances, as seen last night with CMS' misses, and also the shots from range not amounting to anything.

However, you look at Charlie Austin, who already has the all-important (to some) 20-goals-a-season ability, and yet Burnley are in 10th. ???
