Is anyone out there trying to listen to TalkSport on 1053 AM. For the past three days I can't get any reception apart from a very very feint one with loads of static and interference.
I'm starting to get withdrawl symptoms, I need my daily dose of bo****ks from Brazil, Beaky and Parry et al.
PLEASE HELP :(

Yes, I've had to switch to 1107 as well. 1053 has been twatted since Saturday, I can't get anything on it. I thought it was my car radio playing up intially, but the one in the kitchen is the same.

All quite irritiating. Typical it didn't happen during the yawn-a-thon ball-by-ball coverage of the tour of South Africa. I fookin hate cricket on the radio.

Harsh, although their coverage was not a patch on TMS, any cricket coverage is a good thing, as cricket is great.
Each to their own I suppose. I'm just not a cricket fan, so it always annoys me when Talksport wipe out their entire days programmes to do the ball-by-ball coverage. Its frighteningly dull. By all means give out regular score updates and go back as & when something actually happens. But the waffle that goes on between deliveries....

"there's a bird on the outfield, what do you think that is ? Could be a pigeon. No, too big to be a pigeon. I saw one of them outside the hotel the other day. There's normally a flock of them, look, theres two or three more on the roof of the stand. And there's a cloud, do you think its coming this way ? Moving across the sun now, but nothing serious, its not very low. New ball after this over...."

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz

It annoys me it is on Talksport, as they do not do it justice. The Radio 4 TMS coverage is so much better.
The only amusing thing about it with Talksport was Alan Brazil getting the hump if it was raining in South Africa, cos that meant he had to stay in the studio to do the full 4 hours (6am - 10am) if the scheduled 8.30am start was delayed.

Always had a right old moan-up with Beaky if he couldn't scoot off at 8.30.

"RAIN in South Africa. I cannae believe it Beaky, would ye look at that. Its RAINING again" :lolol:

It's been crap for a few days now - I've got it on now okay, but that must be the other frequency; 1053 & 1089 weren't working in the car.

I find 1107 is best in the mid-Sussex area.

Yes 1053 blew out last week.... that was the primary reception for the south.. 1089 is working better now though so they must have changed it?

I think Talksport got it wrong by staying with ball-by-ball coverage for the one-dayers. You just about got away with blanking out the rest of the schedule for Tests, but everyone had had enough.

But overkill as it was, it may do the BBC good to have suffered by missing out. TMS can be very smug, self-congratulatory and twee, and they might actually sharpen up their act.

True. I enjoyed the tests, but by the time the one-dayers came around, it'd been over a month of cricket, and was a bit much. Preferred their test coverage to others, mind.

3 days you say? Okay, what have you missed then, erm ....
Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U, Man U, Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal, foreigners damaging the English game, Arsenal, Chelsea, Chelsea, Man U and Cas being unable to read the newspapers properly.

Yep, that pretty much covers it. However, you may have missed one unbelievable moment when a Man U fan called drive time to complain about the LACK of coverage Man U get on Talk Sport."

I'm guessing he was a Wrexham fan taking the piss. I mean why talk about things that matter like the Wrexham situation, when we can debate (again) what makes a big team, BIG!

Rant over ...
