Let's not panic, this team is well capable of maintaining a promotion push, there's really not much competition to worry us imho. Don't rush in and appoint some no good loser who's gonna sod off at the first chance of earning a fiver extra a week. Please, let's get in some continuity. Although, having said that, considering how many managers we've gone through lately, we're not exactly doing badly on the pitch are we? Come on Danny and Bob B, let's get out there on Saturday and show the sawn-off one how much we don't miss him!

We need to move pretty quickly IMHO... just take a look at Reading's form post-Pardew...

Yes, but we've got Bob Booker (still got mass respect for that man for saying "no" when Micky came calling) to steady the ship. Come on....it worked for Peter Taylor. :lol

The more I think about it the more I think Dowie. He knows the division. He's shown loyalty to Oldham. He's a manager looking to prove himself. Also Oldham had the best away form in the league last season. If he could improve our results away from home we could do very very well as we won't lose many points at home.

Offer Dowie the job now.

If we go after Dowie the domino effect goes on - West Ham, Reading, Brighton.

I'm not comfortable with nicking Oldham's manager. Not so long ago we were in a similar situation to them for different reasons.
Will be disappointed in DK if he does go after Dowie.

Dowie isn't under contract.

Other teams don't have mercy. If we're weak we'll fail.

I think Dowie would want the job. I think he would do a good job.

Icy - good sentiment but football is a business as well as a sport and whilst I too would feel sorrow for Oldham who have so many problems we have to look after number 1. Mr Dowie for me too. Sorry Latics.

I'm with you.

If the only manager that we think is capable of doing a good job, is the one from a team in a financial mess & struggling to keep going, then that must mean that there's a lot of crap managers around. If we were in Oldhams position, that's the last thing we would need.

Let's be principled about this. If Dowie applies for the job, OK. Otherwise, leave him alone.

So we get shat on, Reading get shat on and we aren't allowed to shit on someone else. Why should we always be the good guys, we get shat on by everyone but the moment we even think about doing it to anyone else people start saying how unfair it is.

Thats a joke. If Dowie is the right man for the job and he's interested in a move which there's no guarantee he will be then I reckon it shouldn't matter one little bit. Reading didn't care when they stole Coppell form us, Leicester didn't care when they stole Adams form us, Port Vale didn't care when they stole Horton etc etc etc
