Of course you would care. I would as I hope would most footballers. Id rather be played 30k a week and play every week than 60k a week to play in the reserves.

Some would, some wouldn't. It's a short career, and you're a long time not playing once you're out of the game. At which point, 60K goes a lot further than 30K. Twice as far probably.

I see where you coming from but 30k a week for lets say 10 years give a take is

£15,600000. Thats before any sponsorship deals and bonuses ECT.

Which probably will take it up to about 20 mil. If you cant make that last 50 odd years then you're doing something wrong!

Sad state of affairs when a player puts the £££ before his footballing career. SWP would still earn an absolute fortune during his career had he stayed at Man City for another couple of years. Instead, he's pissing it up the wall playing 20 minute cameos every other week
