Meopham, Kent.
Ridiculous. The guy has had all summer to bring in teh players he wanted, and he was still offering silly money to all and sundry at the 11th hour. I would be horrified at that lack of planning. It looked like Micky Adams with money.

They are now under HUGE pressure to win, win WIN, or he's gone, and the randomness of the signings doesn't suggest he's carefully identified players who will gel quickly into a particular style of play. He wants the window to still be open in case he sees his new boys play and suddenly thinks "f***".

Where will he be managing? Whoever the next club is with loads of money and a desire for a high profile manager.

The first sensible thing he has ever said.

Before having a pop at me for saying that just think how has having the window improved the game, more so than it did for the previous 90+ years of the leagues existence, when the only deadline was a cut off date in March for signing players to be eligible to play in a match that affected relegation or promotion.

I've never liked the transfer windows, I preferred reading rumours everyday as managers were able to purchase players throughout the season

I would prefer the window to shut on the first day of the season; and for it to apply to managers too...

Would think there is less chance of that ever happening because the boards with money demand success hence Sven's concern. We would have been lumbered with Slade and not got Gus if that was the case.

Clubs sufferfing financially would be worse off because nobody would buy a club if they couldnt bring in the men they want to do a job.

Just thought of the loophole in that TB would have brought in Gus as Chief Coach and then a week later put Slade on gardening leave and left team matters in the chief coaches hands.

Oh yeah, will never happen. (and would be impossible to enforce)

Although the pressure might be less, can you imagine the grief some manager's would get from the fans if they kept on losing and you couldn't sack them.

Sven needn't worry, he can still sign half a team on loan, and there's always January...

Here
I think Sven will be gone along with McLaren in the next few weeks. This is a pity because it would be nice if both clubs retained them for the whole season thus ensuring neither were challenging for honours at the end of the season leaving it open for others!!!

No way will Sven be sacked so soon.

He has a decent squad, and since I met with him and watched his side play he has plugged the more obvious loopholes.
Okay, I would prefer that they are not competing with us for a promotion place, but I think they will be up there and doing better than their
season's start has suggested so far.

I wasn't happy with him as England manager, and certainly not with McClaren there either, but I think Sven at least will do quite well with Leicester City.
