It's a team effort, although undoubtedly he's been the star of the show. Mushy is the first person to praise his team mates rather than take the credit himself! He is a genuine and very modest chap!
Well, mid table maybes. Thats what was needed at Sussex - basically a batsman's dream of a wicket (much like the Oval) so something special needed in terms of a spinner.
Shows that English wickets do suit spinners, especially after such a dry summer.
However, despite the wicket, England still did the majority of their work without a spinner - hence why South Africa struggled - ie. they don't have a decent spinner either.
How would Kent would have done without Hooper, how would surrey have done without enough money to have so many good players etc etc.
Sussex have been building this team for years, all they needed was a world class spinner and this year we got one. The rest of the team has been gelling for years and they deserved everything they have got this year.
Kind of relate this to the Klinsmann era at Spurs: A good team but with a superstar they suddenly became a great team (OK Spurs did'nt do that much but with him they we're better than without), I think you know what I mean anyway
Agree that Mushi is star attraction but our batsmen have poruduced the runs to give Mushi enough overs to bowl the opposition out. What's been so pleasing is the performance of our young batters, Prior, Ambrose, Davis with even Lewry and Taylor doing their bit and those two have bowled really well.
It's a team effort and the table does not lie. We have gained more
points than any one else.
Sussex by the Sea forever
