It was you?! Did you make the train? Or Cycle to Clapham?

I made the train with AGES to spare.

To be fair, Leesy is my mate. I am a professional broadcaster and a cricket fan but NOT a cricket broadcaster by any stretch of the imagination. Leesy spotted me eating my lunch and asked if I'd help out, because he didn't fancy talking to himself for another eight hours.

I'd already paid to get in and EVERYTHING. Sorry to anyone who thought I was talking bollocks or anything. I find cricket commentary REALLY hard to do -- and frankly it makes me appreciate the GENIUS of Leesy/Aggers/Blowers/other commentators.

I won't be back tomorrow -- I'm at work (proper work) all night, now.

Fair play to you - it was freezing in the morning, and he was sat there on his own, freezing cold, trying to describe a Nash cover drive. Commitment, but probably a bastard job to do on your own!:D

I'd say it's IMPOSSIBLE to do on your own. TMS not only has a rota of commentators doing 20 minutes at a time, it has expert summarisers, a scorer, and listeners' emails etc to fall back on.

Local radio just CAN'T AFFORD all that. I wish it could, it would be ACE.

When dining al fresco I only get with pork products augmented with egg

Gala Pie: tick
Scotch Egg: tick
Eggs Benedict: tick

sausage roll: get thee behind me*

*not as part of some bizarre sexual act**

** unless it really is the biggest sausage roll I'll ever see

TCOPB, you did not talk bollocks, you just DIDN'T give us a five minute running commentary on making a cup of coffee...

Very disappointing.

 .... please accept my apology... agree fully with comments about how impossibly hard it must be to replicate TMS style quality as a solo effort...

more effort should be made to find people to co-commentate/summarise from among the Sussex CCC staff...

superb stuff from Lukey and Mush taking the score from 233-8 to 341...

is it overcast in West Sussex? (ideal Lewry and Rana conditions in BN20 at the moment...)

Luke Wright still top of batting (!) averages but drops from 108 to 82.5 after latest innings of 57. Not bad, though, for a guy who's in for his bowling.
