Durham need 52 in their second innings to win the match, they're currently 9-0

Can anyone suggest a reason why Buthcher didn't make Lancs follow on? Surely its WAY more difficult to win a game if you have to follow on. Do you think he's trying to make eveyone sweat a little?

He is batting them out of the title. Durham ARE going to win and thus they must win now. The longer Surrey bat the more they get the less chnace of Rainymen winning.

He wants Ramps to have the chance to get to 2000 runs and if they make Lancs follow on then he wouldn't be able to

Yeah, makes sense, but surely it would have been better to get them straight back in under the pressure of knowing that they were effectively -193 for 0.
Lets face it, a dodgy start to their second innings, could have lifted Lancs' confidence. Fortuantely, they have started OK though.
