Sussex batflids once again showing why they will be losing this comfortably soon enough.

33 runs in just 5 overs bowled since tea. Village bat swinging on show.

207ao. Well done boys, your 50 over crash bang wallop run rate has guaranteed you all a wonderful days golf tomorrow.

In all seriousness this match underlined what we saw in the previous match:

1. We're extremely light on batting.
2. Some of our batsmen can only play in one-day mode, regardless of whether they have 2 hours or 2 days to knock off their runs.

In fact the batting averages are staggering. After 4 matches we have Nash on 16.83, Yardy 16.75, Cachopa 14.12 - that's 18 innings, no 100s, 1 50.

Compare that to the bowlers' batting averages - Shahzad 27.50, Robinson 47.00, Hobden 20.00 - 20 innings, 1 100, 1 50.

It'll be a relegation scrap in the 4-day game. As for the 50-over game we've been drawn in the tougher Group B of the Royal London One-day Cup so that looks a big ask too.

Same problem as last season, we have no problem taking 20 wickets, but our batsmen are not doing enough. If Joyce fails we fail.

Should have signed a decent batsman in the winter, yet we are looking at yet another spinner at the moment.
