It might be worth enquiring if they also have the make of car detailed as well as the number plate? If it is a wrong digit, then hopefully this would highlight the mistake.

they have been given a reg number to ID the person they've sent the letter too. if its wrong, then they dont know that. they've said they wont deal with any enquiries. thats the point, they have a car now marked as potentially commiting a crime, but no evidence that it occured or proof of identity.

Where does it say they won't deal with any enquiries? If you bothered to read the scan of the letter it quite clearly provides both an email address and a postal address via which you may dispute the allegation. You just can't do it over the phone.

i was going by the original information in the opening post, which in retrospect is not giving the full picture. :glare: carry on.

They certainly should have - quote from 'roadsupervisors.net'

"They are taught to work in pairs, with one volunteer operating the gun and another noting down the offending vehicle’s details, including... its speed, registration number, make, model and colour. This information is passed to police, who trace the driver and issue a warning letter."

It brings about so many hilarious images of pensioners with binoculars and blunt pencils.
