Sorry. Noted.

I’m just finding it rather frustrating that Sussex have, on performance, ‘won’ two matches, but have never looked like completing either of them, thanks to the inevitability changeable spring weather.
It is a strange miss-conception, and one that I had until recently, that it's a bad time of year for rain. April, May and June are the three driest months of the year in England.

April is drier than July and August. And August is when they play The Humbug. So may the heavens open (except where NSCers are on holiday, of course).

In the summer months it can rain hard, granted - but then the sun comes out, and it dries. In early April a few mum of rain, and the day is a write off. And it’s dark on a cloudy day by 4.30 in the afternoon.

Well, yes. I was probably trying to convince myself that The Humbug was just as capable of having a miserable time.

Bad news that Sussex not one of the eight counties chosen by ECB to be funded as Women's Pro Cricket teams from 2025 or the two counties to join in 2017. Similar idea to WSL.

Real shame as Sussex has a great tradition of development of women cricketers.

Sadly the ECB has no interest in the well being or future of Sussex CCC

Without checking, are the eight counties?:

Lancashire
Yorkshire
Warwickshire
Middlesex

Those minus Middlesex and Yorkshire (who will be added in 2027) Somerset and Essex got funding.

Sussex, Northants and Leicestershire got a pat on the head and told to run along now.

Day 1 v Gloucestershire

Sussex won the toss and will field

Haines
Clark
Alsop
Pujara
Coles
Simpson
FHP
Lamb
Carson
Robinson
Seales

After two rounds of using the execrable Kookaburra ball we go back to using the Dukes, so probably a very good toss to win with the prevailing conditions

0/0 Haines cops one on the left hand fielding at short leg during the first over. Has gone off with Carter on as sub fielder

Gloucs 26/0 from 6 overs, and looking secure.

Need a wicket - preferably Bancroft the CHEAT.
