Apologies for starting a new thread on this BUT

There have been numerous posts on this subject, overwhelmingly in favour of retaining SBTS as our Anthem.

The words of Sussex by the Sea are

Now is the time for marching
Now let your hearts be gay
Hark to the merry bugles
Sounding along our way
So let your voices ring my boys
And take the time from me
And I’ll sing you a song, as we march along,
Of Sussex by the sea.

For we’re the men from Sussex
Sussex by the sea
We plough and sow and reap and mow
And useful men are we
And when you go from Sussex
Whoever you may be
You tell them all that we stand or fall
For Sussex by the sea

Oh Sussex, Sussex by the sea
Good old Sussex by the sea
You may tell them all that we stand or fall
For Sussex by the sea

Oh Sussex, Sussex by the sea
Good old Sussex by the sea
You may tell them all that we stand or fall
For Sussex by the sea

There are excellent versions of the tune on the web sites of the

Horsham Borough Band

or

Heathfield Silver Band

If anyone can post shortcuts of the music only that would be great as I am not that clever!

The song was composed by W Ward Higgs in 1907 and was adopted as a march by the Royal Sussex Regiment.
Ward Higgs lived in South Bersted (Bognor Regis) and, on his death, was interred in the churchyard there.

Thank you

Thanks guys,

I was trying to post words and tune that matched, something that could be adopted / accepted.

Thanks particularly PD

I was aware of the posting of whatisname but not really what I was looking for as that is now history, referring as it did, to both the Albion (at the time of the FA cup progress therefore no longer appropriate) and SCCC.

I spent some time trying to find the correct words and also to post a decent version of the tune and unfortunately, they don't come together.

Thanks
