Over there
Sorry for this plug, but my friend is a brilliant Sussex artist and has recently created his own website to show off his artwork but is struggling and needs a lift. Check out how good he is and if you feel the urge, why not buy for yourself or as a Christmas pressie.

Glen R Smith - Natural Landscape Artist | Paintings - Prints - Commissions | Home Page

That is the end of the adverts. And now back to our scheduled programme :)

The Clayton Mill winter scene is excellent and brilliantly portrays winter on the downs.

I've spent years trying to paint water as well as that! Amazing.

Glenn is a lovely bloke and an amazing artist. My wife bought me a print of his royal pavilion painting as a wedding present. It's like he took a photo of it, great skill.

I was going to say that at that scale they do look like photos. Very skillful, not sure I'd want them on my wall though, but as I am about to buy art for my house, I may think about it, especially any local pics. I think I'm going to go for a muscial theme though.

If I were a talented artist and had a website, I would put pictures of my artwork on my homepage rather than a picture of paint tubes.

This chap lives a few houses from me: landscape paintings | watercolour paintings | seascapes paintings I went to an exhibition he hosted a couple of weeks ago and his paintings look incredible in the flesh, so to speak, but his website doesn't do them justice really.

Good luck to your friend :)

I've emailed a link to n.s.c to him so he will see all the comments. Thank you for your comments, he'll be most pleased :)

I was going to say that at that scale they do look like photos.

That was my thought too. I don't want to be dismissive (especially without seeing them in the flesh), but if I'm looking for art to put on my wall, I think that might be a drawback.

Ok, this should give him a lift...they are very good!
However, a few points :
they are too small at a foot sqish..my abstract in my dining room is 20x as big, maybe mix up sizes?
Landscapes should be 'landscape' not portrait, the eyes natural view,
Have a name change, sounds like an accountant, drop the initial? Just Smith? Riverbanksy?
Why just prints online, try an original for big money & see what happens
Try seascapes, we are a coastal county visitors buy 'the sea' they cannot have back home.. a Sussex artist I know has sold 800 x £150 of a single beach scene (2ft x3ft print) now that would cheer him up
Good luck

Some great pointers, and the general consensus is how great his artwork is. He will be pleased
