Conference South moneybags outfit Hornchurch, theyve got an amazing side now!

McCarthy, 31, has been linked with a number of Conference National clubs since being released by Oxford, including newly-promoted Crawley Town.

The Irishman spent seven years at Brighton & Hove Albion before joining Wycombe Wanderers and then left for Oxford United at the end of the 2002/03 season.

He enjoyed a successful two years as first-team captain at the Kassam Stadium and is an uncompromising central defender.

Meanwhile not so big legend Mickey Bennett has retired from Canvey Island and is expected to move into coaching.

hornchurch are looking good and with super paul at the back maybe weymouth will have to wait another year for promotion.suprised paul has had to slip that far down the league's but with hornchurch's backing they probably offered him more money and security than most div 3 clubs could
