Sunny Beach, Bulgaria

My ex next door neighbours had an apartment there and really rated it
I have heard very good reports about Bulgaria although since my missus heard that prostitutes roam the beaches there we've never been !!
This may put you off or it may be a deal clincher - I have no knowledge of your circumstances

Yep ive been and loved it. That part of Bulgaria is lovely and the people are really nice. I went over in about 2007 and where i stayed in Nessebar there were alot of people from Nottingham there who had bars and helped us out alot.

Yep ive been and loved it. That part of Bulgaria is lovely and the people are really nice. I went over in about 2007 and where i stayed in Nessebar there were alot of people from Nottingham there who had bars and helped us out alot.

Thanks. Basically we were initially looking at the Greek Islands, but found this resort that looks good. Beach looks really nice, it's far cheaper than the Greek Islands and a good strip of bars and clubs from what I know.

Just want to see peoples opinions before booking it.

serious now, if you're young and want to have a few beers and a laugh at a resonable price, Magaluf! If you want culture and to avoid the football shirt crowd, stop reading now. but if you want sunshine, nightlife, sandy beaches, wholesome grub and beer for 1 euro (you'd probably struggle to find beer that cheap in Goa these days) it's fine. we're a pair of 40 somethings with a two year old and we had a good time! (and yes we have been to places like Nice,Santorini, Marbella etc)

My girlfriend and i went sept 2009 - stayed at the Riu hotel - all inclusive - had a great time the resort is quite commercialised but very friendly, 60p a pint and cheap food if you decide to eat out. Perfect for those who like spain and Greece but want more value for money. we are looking to go back this september. Book it.

Thats where our groups off too. Was between there and Malia, but Malia was about another £100 so decided on the former. We know it's ridden with its fair share of twats, but so will all the other popular young holiday resorts, and the whole idea was just a cheap holiday for a group of me and my mates before we all go off to Uni or whatever.

Yeah. I deal with the money and the economical side seeing as Sunny Beach is similar to other resorts mentioned (well a little nicer and less populated) but far cheaper.

Having watched bits of that "Sun, Sex and Suspicious parents" a couple were put off by Malia, but as i've said, you could make a programme with a negative outlook on pretty much any remotely lively city. The one off putting bit was seeing a bloke randomly get punched in the face and spending 2 days in hospital with a broken nose, you see that in Brighton every week almost.
We're looking at going early july, couple of weeks after our last exam. Cheapest we've found is £320 for a week half board, in a hotel overlooking the beach with its own pool and everything. Don't care how tacky it is, just nice to get away with some mates.

You will have a good time don't worry about the usual press effort me and some mates went to Magaluf back in 97 when we finished out A levels and had a great time, no one got hit, glassed etc usual common sense like anywhere the only place anything like that ever happened was believe it or not Malta in 2000 when we ended up in a brawl with some Italians no idea how it happened as we are not the sort of group who end up in trouble, basicallit can happen anywhere.
It's still cheap partly due to not being euros which is rare in europe these days very orientatd towards western european tourists. Everywhere does 2-1 cocktails, Beach is great and i don't remember seeing any prostitutes but i was with the girlfriend.

From what I've heard, Malia has become the worst of all the similar destinations, idiots wise. I personally wouldn't want to go there, Zante, Magaluf, Kavos etc but everyone that goes to these places seem to love it, so I'm sure you will

What company are you booking with? I think we're going with First Choice..

mother in law has an apartment out there, we went last year during world cup, i like it but for a family its expensive to get to unless your going package obviously, DO NOT GO EASY JET TO VARNA ITS A NIGHTMARE TRAVELLING DOWN
