I'm having a party at my house on June 12th for the England vs USA game. For an ex-pat living in the land of the 1lb cheeseburger this game is about as good as it gets. Invites have gone out and menu is sorted. I now need to put together a cd to put on pre-match and crank up the atmosphere. Idea is combination of "Britpop" (sorry young whippersnappers but I'm old) and patriotic music. All suggestions gratefully received and in the unlikely event that any NSC'er is looking for somewhere to watch the match in
North Florida that day anyone English is welcome to try to even up the numbers - pm me.

Way out west
I must admit that I like this year's "Bring it back to Blighty" - good singalong stuff

I posted a link to that a couple of weeks ago, I reckoned it was pretty good but got slaughtered nonetheless...it is certainly no worse than many we have had over the years.

Abide with Me; Land of Hope & Glory; Rule Brittania for the traditional stuff

I think BritPop will be wasted on the yanks so how about a bit of Iron Maiden for real English rock - maybe Phantom of the Opera (the old Lucozade ad music) or Die With Your Boots On

Can't get more English than Ian Dury - maybe England's Glory to keep the theme.

You must have some Half Man Half Biscuit in your collection to confuse the locals.

Go West by the Pet Shop Boys for camp value

Al Murray says that Queen are the greatest band in the world ever so you have the old standards of We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions
