Short of closing down the board I don't see there's much the mods can do. They already do a very good job on the still pretty rare occasions that something really offensive or libellous appears - and bear in mind that in reality no one is going to sue this board outside those on it, possibly the club, and other well-known 'Albion' figures. No one else cares.

I've been posting on here for eight years, and there's always been an element of 'it never used to be like this'. That of itself doesn't mean things haven't actually got worse this time.

Personally I hope the teenage toerags who like being racist get what's coming to them out there in the real world (Mississippi Burning stylee), and they'll be ridiculed on here - but you can't insist everyone shares one mainstream view. I think you have to put up with it, curb their worst excesses (and let's be honest, it's not just them who occasionally cross the line), and leave if you don't like it. But without a fanfare.

The board is not what it was eight years ago, I'm sorry about that in many ways but it is to a certain extent a victim of its own success, as anything that is open to all will always be.

Wouldn't it just be simpler to have a "Politics, Race and Religion" section, because to be honest there are smug, self satisfied know it alls across the whole political spectrum on here who like nothing better than the clatter of their own keyboards. At least then they can bore each other silly with their witty, forthright, no holds barred, intellectual debates. Perhaps it could be called "NSC Parliament"

Or perhaps the mods could run all posts by those that you suspect of having reactionary tendencies. Your say, would of course be final and you have the right to call anyone a nazi without recourse to any other evidence other than they don't read the same papers as you, not as well qualified job-wise as you, perhaps their hair is too short or they just don't fit in with your world-view. I leave it to you to decide as you seem to be the only people that are grown up enough or clever enough to do this.

We could send them off to camps, let's call them gulags, for re-training.

We could exile them to America, restrict their right to free speech. All you would need to do is claim they are racist or right-wing or disagree with you.

Ultimately we could be really hard on them and feed them radioactive sushi if they really get on your goat. I mean, why should you have to put up with someone that you regard as intellectually deficient.

Anyhow - its pointless having these discussions without Bozza around, I did admire his liberal moderating some time ago, but the shit has gone too far now, and a few people need to piss off or pull their socks up, if he wants to have anything left to moderate when he gets back from hols he needs to have a little rethink...

If British Bulldog wants to advocate the burning of all Muslims then fine but when he calls me a f****** c**** for doing so that's different. Could not agree more. I think that I always voice my views in a polite and rational manner and I feel that those who disagree with me always treat me with respect.

That has been tried before but then you have, for want of a better word, quality posters, who will get away with similar language with no kind of come back from moderators. The moderating needs to be consistant for it to work.

You could take a leaf out of Brightonfans book, abuse on there is translated into a rather stupid word but you get the drift.

Granted, gratuitous profanity is both ignorant and pointless, all it does is show the lack of intellect of the poster.

May be. I'm not sure how this reporting things to mods works though. I reported something last week, not because it offended me but thought it was potentially legally troublesome for the message board. I heard nothing back and nothing was done so can't say I have faith in the system other than it's use for the stopping of being slightly nasty to over opionated quality posters.
