Personally, I think he should be ashamed. I know the player ratings have their own thread, but I think Fleetwood was so poor last night, he deserves a special mention.

I cannot believe the number of people slagging off Virgo for his performance at right back - yes, Virgo was SHITE at right back, and can't play there for arse. BUT last night he was doing the job of two people. Fleetwood's positional and defensive play last night was an EMBARRASSMENT - *ALL* their position came down the left hand flank until he was hauled off.

He NEVER went with the overlapping full back.. ANYBODY who has EVER played football knows that one goes and one stays - him and Virgo were meant to be a team. Then, after he was beaten, put in the most half-arsed attempt to chase back I have ever seen.

He clearly didn't want to be there, and should've been subbed off after 10 minutes. At one stage he was BEHIND the back four, huffing and puffing with 25 minutes gone. :censored:

A f***ing joke, and a disgrace to the shirt last night. I firmly believe with a stronger right hand side we'd have won that game easily, such was our dominance.

PS. I forgot to add, hurrendous dive right in front of us trying to win a penalty - not only a shocking player (as a winger, leastways) but also a cheat.

Strange that 12 months ago we might have paid a fortune for him. Is his career in decline or are we just failing to get the best from him.

You weren't there. His attitude stunk.
He's a loan player. This is quite often what happens with loan players. Far be it from me to criticise the manager for bringing him in though, when we all know you're the only one allowed to criticise around here.

The problem I have with blind criticism, is rule of thumb is the same people who were calling for McGhee and latterly Wilkins to resign, are the same people calling for Adams' head now.

As a matter of fact, I AGREE with you and your little friend regarding Adams, and I think it might be better if he went.

What I don't agree with are the personal comments and "THICKY OUT" campaigns of nonsense and vitriol. And the ceaseless, endless threads on the matter, with the same dozen people making the same repetitive comments.

The board clearly don't care what the vast swathes of supporters think, as they proved when they sacked Wilkins in cold blood.

I'm in two minds on this.

He was obviously going nowhere in the penalty area and was blatently inviting the defender to foul him so that he could go to ground - that was his only intention from the situation.

However, it appeared that the defender obliged by actually tackling (albeit softly) Fleetwood's ankles.

Forster does this frequently, with varying degrees of success.!

Do you not think MA should try playing him up front for a few games and then we can judge him? It surely must be accepted that if you play a striker on the right wing they won't be protecting the right back as much...not quite sure how a manager can overcomplicate a side that is (on paper) so much stronger than last year.

Would you want Forster or Murray to be benched though, thus leaving them unhappy, if he was to be tried out up top for a few games

No but Forster was certainly not 100% fit away at Hartlepool (even though he scored) so that would have been a good game to give him a run out. Forster and Murray should be first names on the team sheet with Fleetwood (not virgo/asinasiniayayaya) second choice and certainly not with him first choice on the right wing with cox on the bench.

Not seeing the Hartlepool cup game, but when Fozzy came on at Carlisle he looked match fit, that's probably why he started that game, and Fleetwood was piss-poor against Carlisle. I was expecting him and Fozzy to play against Hartlepool, and murray to be mysteriously injured again but this didn't happen.

Fleetwood cannot play upfront, because we will never shift our long ball tactics to the front men. Fleetwood wont jump for a header, so kicking it high to him upfront will never work, and that means even though he is a striker, he wont play upfront for us.

Having said that, we did use the tactic of kicking it high to him on the right and left wings, and it worked a total of ZERO times

He didnt use his pace to beat anyone last night, he could barely trap a football, and his commitment was as none existent as his red boots

Anyinsah and Fleetwood are worse players than Cox and Robinson.

Fleetwood has one asset - pace. If Murray had Fleetwoods pace he'd be worth a million, if Fleetwood had Murrays eye for position/tenacity he'd be worth a million. The fact neither are the complete package (nor ever will be) is exactly why they are running out in League One.

Fleetwood is one of the least competitive frontmen in the air I have ever seen. Very much going through the motions at the moment it would seem.

Playing a striker at right wing and a centre back at right back is gonna be a recipe for getting skinned. Any decent tactician would ask his players to exploit that area as the players are being played out of position.

Perhaps applying a litte of your FM knowhow might make you view real football more realistically:tosser:

If you'd have read my post, I commented on his bad attitude, his lack of any kind of work rate, and single handedly being the cause of almost every County attack in the first half. Not just his lack of positional sense.

His unwillingness to chase back or even JUMP for headers, or trap a football, was evident to all those AT the game.
