All doom and gloom on here. All that can save us now is a spectacular collapse by your lot and you failing to make the play offs, which doesnt look very probable at the moment.

There you go obsessed!!

To be fair, I was merely highlighting what others think. I think we are most probably going to go down but I still hold out hope that we CAN stay up.

It always amazes me that it seems a lot of Brighton fans want to see us fail as much as they want to see you successful! Cant work it out, personally as long as we are doing well i couldnt give a toss what any other club does

Do I smell bullshit? (CM sniffs around) So in effect there's no point you looking at any other football results at all then, you solely concentrate on the results of CPFC, and couldn't give a toss about the fortunes of other clubs. In the highly unlikely event that that's true you are one strange football fan.

Back in the real world of football fans, CPFC getting to the play-off final and losing would certainly help ease the pain of relegation, especially if Johnson finally jumped ship as well.

True, I view you doing shit as a consolation prize really, the focus has to be on us. Strange, as its more the type of attitude you see abroad, for example in Italy I have seen a lot of supporters wanting their team to lose eg Lazio fans wanted Inter to beat them so Roma couldnt win the league.

Brighton and Hove Albion Match Report

Scum 0 Seagulls 1

Whatever Paul McShane achieves in a career that promises to be a distinguished one, he will forever have a place in the Albion fans' hearts after heading the only goal of a pulsating derby clash with Crystal Palace.

The on-loan Manchester United defender put Palace to the sword with 12 minutes remaining. Rising above the Eagles defence he headed in Sebastien Carole's corner and in doing so capped an immense personal performance alongside Guy Butters in the Albion defence. While McShane may achieve legendary status for his efforts, every player here has written themselves in Albion history after becoming the first Seagulls side to beat Palace at Selhurst Park since 1983.
Albion boss Mark McGhee was delighted with his team's performance, and afterwards enthused, "We competed from the very first minute, and that was important because we know that the game can be over very quickly if we don't start right We did start right, we competed, we played well and we thoroughly deserved our win. We've lifted the bar again and we need to live up to that
McShane oozed class throughout and the home side rarely breached Albion's brilliant rear guard during a match which McGhee's men dominated. On the one occasion Palace did find a way through, midway through the first half, Albion were down to ten men.
Albion had the lion's share of the chances in the first half: on 19 minutes Leon Knight went clean through on goal, after a clever ball from Carole, but scuffed a shot over; Shortly after the half-hour mark Alexandre Frutos, on for the injured Richard Carpenter, saw Gabor Kiraly beat away his stinging drive after good work from Jake Robinson
Knight and Robinson both had chances in quick succession just before half-time. Knight out-muscled Hughes, robbing him of the ball on the halfway line before skipping past Darren Ward. His fierce low drive that followed was palmed away by Kiraly for a corner. After neat build-up play from the resultant kick, Robinson fired just over.
Albion had dominated proceedings in the first half, and even the loss of Carpenter - who along with Dean Hammond and Charlie Oatway had helped the Seagulls stamp their authority in centre of midfield early in the game - didn't unsettle the balance of the team and they left the Selhurst Park pitch to a standing ovation from the wonderfully vociferous away support

Jubilant scenes followed the final whistle

Albion: (4-4-2);Henderson, Hart, McShane, Butters, Reid; Carole, Carpenter (Frutos 25), Oatway, Hammond; Knight (El-Abd 89), Robinson (Kazim-Richards 71). Subs not used: Blayney (GK), Mayo.

Croydon Vermin (4-4-2) Kiraly; Butterfield, Hall, Ward, Boyce; McAnuff (Andrews 80), Soares, Hughes, Reich (Watson 83); Freedman (Macken 62), Morrison. Subs not used: Borrowdale, Speroni (GK)
