; was there any threads about the Shawcross-Ramsey incident on here; would like to see what the personal views on here we're

I said on that other thread that I think Ramsey was very naive in the way he went for the ball. It was a 50/50 challenge and he toe poked the ball away when shawcross thought they were going to hit the ball at the same time, thus putting his weight into it like you are taught to do in a 50/50.

Even in amatuer football if you do that in a 50/50 you get some studs up your legs. It's just unlucky that his got broken.

I rather like Stoke. Proper club, proper fans, bit of a crap location for a stadium but I can overlook that, and they regularly poke it to supposedly better Premier League clubs.

And I'm sure they do play better football at times than they're given credit for. I hate football snobs like Arsene Wenger. Pretentious arse.

Well that is at least a bit reassuring.

Any more comments out there from any other Stoke fans?

I've left my say on Diego on another thread mate

Hi there; as you can tell I'm a Stoke fan ; but Arismendi is a quality player and in my opinion in games I've seen him in reserves and league cup games he's too good for League 1 (no disrespect intended) but this is a HUGE coup for you guys; Big, Strong, Can pass a ball - short, long; But also a monster in tackling and will get through legs so if you want a bone cruncher then this is your man; back in Uruguay where you need to commit murder to get booking his disciplinary record is high to say the least. More recently its been stated that accustoming to life in England is slower than planned and didn't know a word of the queens and stated he won't leave the club on loan until he learned the basics to communicate so he must of cracked it. Must also add against Blackpool in the League Cup he was our 2nd best player after Matthew Etherington and one of the balls he played to Ethers is one of the best passes I've seen this season it was just perfect in every way the angle, the speed everything!.

Stats
2 Full Uruguayan Caps in 2008
Was Nacional's player of the season in 2008 in the season they won the league
Played in the Copa Libertadores Final.

In terms of the lingo I reckon this has a big bearing on why he signed for us. Having Gus and Tanio not to mention Ingo all speaking Spanish will help him no end.

I'm enjoying these days off from NSC, it seems more enjoyable to read each time I return.
This is superb news, Nacional are a massive club in South America and this guy was their palyter of the season when they won the lot.
As for the current midfield, yes they are playing well and as Gus says Diego won't be walking into the team until he proves himself (which will hopefully be off the bench on Monday when we knock over Colchester!).
