[Albion] Stoke City vs Brighton & Hove Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
A bit twitchy but Stoke were never going to score (or get a shot on target) unless the defence messed up.

Poor performance but excellent result, all that matters. Need some of the first teamers back for Saturday, play like that against West Ham and we will get battered.

Hard work for the three points there. Need to win those if we want to reach Europe

Had all the signs of a typical Brighton game where we outplay the opposition, don’t take our chances and then get stung by a sucker punch luckily we saw it out comfortably in the end. Wembley here we come!

More anxiety than should have been necessary and it’s left me feeling rather flat but we did enough and I feel relieved so not going to criticise any one (or two) players - we win as a team and in the quarter finals of the FA Cup for only the 4th time ever.

Pretty unispiring all round. None of the new players really impressed, either. Into the quarters for only the fifth time in our history tho!

Decent. Stoke played quite well.
Nobody really stood out. Thought JP was excellent in the 2nd half after a ropey start.
Enciso is MILES off. Nothing against the lad but if he was called Smith you'd be thinking wtf? Clearly very highly thought of and trains well but really needs to learn some basics (can't believe that someone like Moran isn't getting game time ahead of him or that people like Alzate are out on loan at his expense). Looking forward to being proved wrong, obviously.
You could see enough from Facundo's contribution to know he has real talent.

Probably my least favourite ever Albion win - which sounds weird. We weren’t bad - we weren’t good, but we won. It was just hard, hard work. But most important thing is we’re in the quarter finals 😉
