Stockport on the same Manegerial merry go round. Dowie rumoured to be going there as his concerns over Oldhams survival from financial crisis bites.

He may just be hanging on to see what happens with SC.

You reckon Dowie could do something here?

IMO I reckon with abit of time he probably could, he's done alright so far with Oldham especially considering the situation they are in. Ugly looking bloke but I'll give him a go if he ends up here.

Then I found this

Dowie waits for Reading verdict

CALVIN ZOLA: Set to extend his stay with Athletic
by Michael Yarwood Oldham Chronicle

IAIN DOWIE has been interviewed for the manager’s post at Reading.

The Athletic boss held talks earlier this week and is expected to hear from Royals chief John Madejski in the next 48 hours.

Dowie would not be drawn after last night’s victory over Stockport, insisting: “Until such time as there is a job offer, I’m not prepared to comment on matters like this.”

But the Chronicle can reveal that discussions went ahead after Reading made an approach.

Mr Madejski, who has transformed Reading into a top first division club, is ready to announce the successor to West Ham-bound Alan Pardew.

Dowie’s chief rivals are thought to be Steve Cotterill and former England captain Bryan Robson.

Stockport are also showing a big interest, but Dowie appears far less likely to leave Boundary Park for a club in division two.

His aim of climbing the managerial ladder is well known, while his lack of a long-term contract means Athletic would not have to be paid compensation.
