I think you are confusing enjoying a game of football and getting a bit excited that an english team has come back from oblivion to get though to the next round with who we want as the next england manager

Great result for Boro...

Doesn't neccessarily mean McClaren as England boss - i don't like the bloke, and i'm not convinced he's ready for a job of that calibre yet. Big Sam for me

Knows how to beat good teams, Chelsea, Man U, Roma, Sttutgart, obviously good team spirit and commitment. Just hope he wont be overawed and revert to how Sven did it, hope he sticks to his own game (if he gets the job, which I hope he doesnt)

Thought exactly the same thing Kev. Boro's European run has given the FA all the excuse they need to appoint Mr Boring.

Stuttgart aren't anything special. Roma weren't at full strength, if they had Totti then they would of been completely raped.

If he could stay on his feet and not spend most of the game on the ground

Still some achievement, seing as they have some quite young, unexperienced players - Parnaby, Cattermole.

I don't mind Steve McLaren and would support him if he was given the job. However, the best man for the job is either Sam Allardyce or Martin O'Neill.

Whoever is the next england manager thay will be brought down by the sun or news of the world who will encourage all their reader fans to hate the manager if we dont win every game 5-0

Here there and everywhere
Agree with Kev. Ive got nothing against Mclaren but I dont think he is the right man for the england job. Im not anti Sven but the team neads someone with a different style of management IMHO. This result will give the FA all the fuel they need. (O'neill should get it IMHO.)

Surely he can do no worse than Sven, who has played people out of position and somehow prevented us from scoring goals against teams like Northern Ireland

exactly - nearly every england manager is liked at the start, then is turned by the press
