Hmmm, he was quite a popular manager here so maybe not everyone's as fickle as you.

On the subject of abusing Coppell, to the couple of guys near me who repeatedly accused Coppell of "Kiddy-fiddling" I would just like to say that you're were both HILARIOUS, you kept me entertained all game with a terribly amusing variety of paedophile jibes. Maybe Oscar Wilde has been re-incarnated as an Albion fan.
What do you mean fickle you tit?,I've never liked the palarse c:angry: nt

as for him leaving, dick knight saw the pound signs and made little effort to keep him

There is a very good thread on NSC in about October/November-ish 2003 where Robert Lester Zamora very carefully and meticulously refutes all these old wives' tales about Knight-Coppell. Worth looking at.

I loved watching Brighton under Coppell. We played attacking free flowing football and had he had all season in charge he would have kept us up.

BUT

He is still an ex palace manager and still f***ed off and tried to nick our decent players.

I heckled him.

Well i for one openly abused him when he was here, and Yorkie can vouch for that if anyone doubts me.

I can vouch for gong. I never slagged him whilst he was in the dugout, but I did in the pub.

Coppel is a bottler. He will never get Reading to the Premiershite, becuase he lacks the nerve.

As for plers he tried to steal, at one time Reading had four or five ex Albion players or former loans in the first team.
