Brain Surgeon
Wigan fans must be feeling worried now, particularly as they're apparently set to offer Roberto Martinez of Swansea the gig. This is great news for the likes of Hull, Wolves, Birmingham and Burnley.
Martinez has no Prem experience as a manager OR player, English isn't his first language, and if he was all that he's cracked up to be surely it would be him with Swansea, and not Owen Coyle's Burnley, in the Prem next season?
I think that's a bit harsh on Martinez. Okay he doesn't have experience at this level. But he's been in this country for 8 years and speaks English to a very good level (probably better than a lot of natives!). I also think you have to bear in mind that last season was Swansea's first in the Championship, and only his second in charge of the club. They finished above the other two promoted teams, and above some pretty large clubs (QPR, Sheff Wed, Palace, Derby, Forest).
Time will tell whether he's all he's made out to be.
