I think I arrived on the scene a year or two too late for sterns, but I can remember going to a club called 'the mansion house' which I think was the reopened sterns? I can't remember it being very good to be honest certainly compared with the clubs in London at the time like club UK in Wandsworth.

The Zap/Escape more my thing in Brighton but had many many times we'd go up to Club UK on a Saturday and drive back at 8am..

For a birthday, we once hired an old ambulance, screeched up outside, poured out at entrance and got straight in. The driver realised he lost the SINGLE black key to this ambulance at lights up.. and it had been handed in to the office..!
Bouncers were always good, often dressing up (WW2 german soldiers once i think ?)
The raids were pretty full on..music off, lights on, everybody goonered and lots of gear on the floor..!

Yes that place was pretty mental, funny coming out of their at 8am in broad daylight and seeing the state everyone was in! We used to mainly go up for Final Frontier on Friday nights which was banging techno. They also did the Tribal Gathering festivals: remember watching the Prodigy, Orbital, The Chemical Brothers and Carl Cox in the same tent! Halfway through the set some nutter jumped on the stage and fell in to all the gear and Keith starting beating the shit out of him! It was 30mins before they could get the music going again and the place went in to meltdown.

Yep done lots of friday's too when Zap fridays got bit too samey sometimes - it was an ace club.

Oddly, i went to the first two Tribal Gatherings too - overriding memories of 1st one was Grooverider doing a stonking set, with a cool lazer show and stilt walking robot/dancers walking about the techno tent...
