With reportedly on here 2k plus less season tickets sold the club will need to tighten the purse strings somewhere and releasing the big earners was a start so hardly think they will replace them with another earning around the same amount. A potential fee being required is also a game stopper
You have to invest in the team /squad unless you want a further fall in (season) ticket sales.

I guess we may see how far we can go with the loan of this man.

I really like Ward he would be my first choice, but we can get Robinson for a season paying % of his wages - he needs gametime to get over his injury - it's a win-win.

Wolves have shot themselves in the foot by admitting that he is not in their first team plans. I'd imagine we're saying that we can meet SW's wage demands, providing there is no fee involved.

We were paying him £10K a week last season according to that article.

what it needs is a really good pre-season by Chicksen and maybe a goal or even two and
a) we won't need him
b) Wolves will have to either keep him or let him go on a free
c) we take him and play him on the wing

Former Crystal Palace defender weighs up options following release

Apart from the time fell over in front of the East Stand, I always thought Parr was a decent player. It we really are trying to be savvy in the market surely he represents a good option? As the article states he is a free transfer, knows the division and is a good age, he's got to be worth serious consideration.

Ward is expensive by any reasonable standards and one would hope that we could find a cheaper alternative. I do not feel that we would be right to rush in for an investment which is likely to cost £2 million over three years.

I guess that's it. Are we paying slightly over the odds because we know the player and his ability? The thing is, he is a sure thing in our team. We know he's a good player, we know he fits (loosely) into the type of system we play, we know he has a good rapport with the players and staff. Is that worth 10% over the odds? Possibly...

We don't really know what a comparable plyer would cost. I'd be delighted if he came back though.

I think the most likely option is that we will bring our own on, biggesh transfer fees are now in the past for the time being

According to todays Express and Star:

"Talks remain ongoing with Brighton regarding the future of Wolves midfielder Stephen Ward."

It is a single sentence story, so no point me putting up a link - the above sentence is all there is.

I am wondering if this is the transfer window where we see, for the first time, a disconnect between what the players expect and what the clubs hold out for. Will FFP make the majority of clubs stick to their guns and go a small step towards the recalibration of these bonkers pay deals?
Seems to be an even greater amount of potential deals that 'can't agree on terms'.
Will lead to an even crazier last couple of days of the window.

Not sure where that rumour has come from.
Last year we had 23,175 season tickets holders - http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/AttendanceStats/0,,10794~3934822,00.html
The only public quote so far about the # of season ticket holders for 2014/15 was that they were "already 20000+ " by Paul Barber/the club way back in March .
http://www.seagulls.co.uk/news/arti...ing-20000-season-ticket-renewals-1412354.aspx

AFAIK there's been no other official update . Can't guarantee this but i'd be astonished if so far they'd only reached a figure less than 21,175 : ie: 2K less in 4 months worth of further sales.
So this is an unfounded rumour.
