I never said we were dull. The fact that our patient, possession football, was pretty to watch, but often failed to create clear cut chances, is not exactly a secret.

These are 5 games from last season that suggest you create quite a few chances. I clicked on these games as they are the teams at the top of table at the moment on the beeb Championship page.

You've unwittingly summed it up. The fact is, they've got all this new money burning a hole in their pocket, and we are curious to see how we'll they spend it. Up to £6m for a kid with one full season of professional football behind him, suggests they may not be as prudent as you'd hope. The very fact you call this 'modest' says everything really.

It's £2.75m. That's still a fair risk but endlessly pretending we've paid £6m isn't going to make it any more true.

Though it may make you feel better, which I guess might be the point.

Indeed, then Brighton fans could regale themselves with the sounds of their own uncontested voices, which I sense is the aim.

We welcome debate. Trolls and dullards grate a bit though. If our 'aim' was as you suggest, you wouldn't still be posting here, would you? It would only take me ten seconds, if that was what we were aiming for.

Indeed, if it wad £3m to a championship it may represent a good deal, but £4m plus in the Premier League indicates a fair risk.

Paying £3m whilst still in the Championship for a striker is IMO more risky than paying £4m for one having just secured promotion. To do so twice risks racking up successive £9m debts per season, which is silly.

They are a good representation of when things went well. Have a search for Bristol City vs Brighton for when it didn't.

I doff my cap to you. It would be nice therefore if any points I make (always with sincerity) were countered with equally valid arguments, rather than personal insults. I believe I have not said one negative thing about any poster on here aside from the major, who is not even a Brighton fan.

Who paid £3m and for which striker?

Hang on, I'm guessing you're going to say CMS, which would be inaccurate. This would however be perfectly understandable though, as whenever you lot sign a player you claim a far smaller fee than the fee the press are reporting, yet when we sign someone you think nothing of inflating the price to suit your argument.

Well I don't really care who they sign or how much they pay for him, you can't polish a turd and they are still supported by Bellends.

I believe the traditional response is to say "well as a Brighton fan you would know about bellends"

Though it's not a tradition I'm that keen of. It's still on the carry on side of the banter, but we've too many who don't see the distinction between that and outright bigotry.

Still, you lot weirdly throw derogatory terms for travellers around, so I suppose it evens out.

If it bothers you, why do you keep posting on obviously Palace related threads?

Because stupid this is a Brighton message board and a Brighton poster started the thread with the fact that you were going to pay us £850k for Donkey
If you really want to talk about wonder boy and the new midfield elbow warrior, I suggest you go over to your message boards where someone will give a shit.

I think it's aimed at the tosser VHA who thinks he's really bright, witty and informed when in fact he's just an ignorant, pompous, arse.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Not knowing you, I would never cast such an aspersion reciprocally, especially as I believe that personal abuse to other posters is supposed to be censured on this site.

But you must know its a thread full of Palace? If not the first tIme you clicked on it, then after.

If it winds you up, why post? Why open the thread and keep posting when it's all Palace v Brighton banter?

I thought the CMS transfer was universally reported as being £2.5m rising to £3.25m, but am happy to placate your sensibilities.

Is this not the ultimate. A Palace fan telling a Brighton fan which posts he should open or not, on our own board!! If that is not a plus for an away forum then I just don't know what is.
