Stefan Iovan, Romania Asst Coach

Watching the Romania - Italy game last night I thought I heard one of the commentators mention that the Romania Assistant Coach had played for the Albion, but didn't catch the name.

A bit of research this morning reveals that it is Stefan Iovan who played for us in 1991.

So two links with the Euros ... him and CKR!

Apologies if fixtures, but couldn't see any reference elsewhere.

And I am still quietly confident I was the first Albion fan to get his autograph!

He was blinding in the play off semis in 1991, but barely played any more than 3 or 4 more games after that for the first team. I think he actually stayed for that following season, as i remember him turning out for the reserves quite a bit
