I think it's now time that all the supposed 'fans', you know the ones always moaning that they'd go to Withdean but can't get a ticket, should shut-up. They had the opportunity last night and didn't take it and that really pisses me off!!!:censored:

Far play to all the looney kids, although slightly annoying at least they chose to watch the Albion in the rain instead of staying in and watching ManU on the box!!!:) :)

We still got the 3rd biggest attendance in the competition so I don't think 4,000 is a particularly bad turnout for an LDV game.

Good that the Kids were there, should build support to help fill Falmer. Seemed the only song the kids knew was "she fell over". Other than that I almost slapped some kiddie who was trying to shout to his mate Barry for about ten minutes.
There were a few of the singing sections regulars in E block for the first half, but as very few people joined in the singing they buggered off elsewhere for the second half.
At £10 a ticket though for McGhee's first home game, anyone who stayed in to watch the primadonas on tele should be ashamed.

4000 is not poor for an early round game of a tin pot competition (albeit with a great incentive - Millennium Stadium - to the finalists)

I remember (sorry to hark on about the "good old days"!) going to similar game against Fulham at Goldstone in 1995/96 season (?) when the crowd was only about 1300......and what a game that was, golden goal by a lad called Fox I think, marvellous scenes!!!!

And sorry, I wasn't there last night, option of seeing my girlfriend or Boston at home, there's only one winner I'm afraid!!!

We've had a fair few away trips lately, which has drained the Albion Rob funds, so I couldn't go. Couple this with the fact that I think it is quite close to payday for a lot of people, and that it is the early rounds of a competition that isn't treated with much merit until the area semi-finals.

That said I agree that the people who whinge they can't get a ticket should shut up - last night was a big chance for them, although I had a lot of mates who used to go occasionally at the Goldstone and go to the odd Withdean game enquiring whether they could pay on the gate, which would probably have upped the crowd a bit.

At the end of the day it is only 2,500 less than we get for an average midweek league game and the league is about 8,000 times more important than the LDV Trophy.

I suspect half of the kids in attendance were dragged along by the parents and didnt actually want to be there judging by the fact that the majority around me were more interested in what sweets were next out of mummys pocket rather than what the score was.

I'm sure it made a massive impact FG. Well done.

In reply to Dancing Ninja, i was at that game all those years back and you are right, the attendance was tiny. I thought it was Virgo who put the free kick in during extra time.

Last night was a pretty good attendance. Hull only got a big crowd last night because they had a derby game against Scunthorpe.

simple question, even if we win the thing, there is a huge loss along the path to the final, given the low takings and the lack of any sorts prestige in winningthe thing, why do we bother entering ? Are you finned etc if you dont ? does anyone know for sure answers ti these questions?

Watching the football at Withdean is tough. Its an awful ground and most casual supporters can't be arsed. I know my dad and brothers have all sworn they won't go again unless its an important game and as you know they all sell out.
Boston at home in the LDV, whilst Chelsea etc were playing in Europe - no chance of a sell out.
I think 4000 wasn't too bad, have a look at the other games attendances

So if we don't enter, the club gets battered by a shark??

I know you do it deliberately (at least I think you do) FG, but can you please, please, please type properly

Actually I posted it the wrong way around

The original is Football Genius aka FG - this one is back to front, but you are right there is also a full stop as well

I was really pleased to be amongst a crowd that had loads of kids in. Fan of the future and all that gubbins Hats off to Martin Perry for doing it - QPR v Dagenham - a"local" derby was only 3k at Loftus Road
OK they may not have been the most avid watcher of a game that ever was, but they were there, supporting their local team, and most of them were pretty well decked in some Albion gear as well:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
