What is this license and who gives it? I know nothing about making and releasing a film. Is this the BBFC classification, or are you talking about something different?

Would a "film" being streamed (rather than being released in cinemas) require this license?
No idea, that was literally all I got told. But this company is involved, and it features some recognisable films on there:

I still think it will appear somewhere at some point, but who knows when that might be?!

Wasn't that preview a showing of a 'work in progress' version? I seem to recall people saying it wasn't finished, or there were gaps in it?

And I guess it needs a license for a 'proper' release.
There weren't gaps but there was a fair amount of watermarked/rough footage/stills, which they said they were working through the licensing of IIRC. FWIW I thought it was a great summary of recent history and really looking forward to seeing it again.

Think I said earlier in this thread that I have been involved in some similar types of niche films and I know how hard it was for the creators to get clearance for any kind of licensed footage. Bloody expensive, as well.

It’s always felt to me like they were waiting for a bigger and bigger ending. Qualifying for Europe should probably have been it. But then they thought hang on we have won the group now we might go all the way. We were third favourites at one point. Now we crashed out so where do you end the story. Can see why no one wants to take this up. Where’s the catch to get neutrals to watch it? Needs a big ending.

Captain Dunky leading the team out at the Amex v AEK Athens then freezing the frame for a big technicolour 'TO BE CONTINUED...' superimposed splurge would have been absolutely perfick. Oh well

I always saw the ending as the cameras following someone being driven in a chauffeured limousine and then onto a private jet.

It's all shot from behind, so we can't see who it is.

For several minutes we get close-ups of hands on in-flight coffee cups, lifting blinds to reveal the sky and so on.

It's a cryptic 'who is it' tease that will have audiences on the edge of their seats.

We get a montage of the plane flying over the channel, the Sussex cliffs and countrysid, and then, at the very end, a stewardess looks round the curtain, smiles and says… "We're coming into land now, Mr Callieri".

Cue titles

I'm sure I posted this link before at some point and have it bookmarked waiting for updates:

Is there no-one here with an account or who can create an account to watch the screener? Looks like you need to be in media or linked to a TV/film festival

The makers must really be kicking themselves that they didn't get this out a year ago. A documentary on the meteoric rise of a football club doesn't work so well when it ends with them being back in decline again.
